APERITIVO IN FLORENCE
It’s easy to find a spot for an evening aperitivo in Florence. But if you’re looking for something special, here are a few pointers. And a list of places you just can’t go wrong.
In recent years the apericena has become more and more popular in Florence. This is an informal buffet style dinner where you pay 10 to 12 Euros for your drink which includes access to a buffet style meal made up of a variety of savoury snacks and small dishes. It’s dinner, but much more casual, often eaten standing up.
Starting around 7pm at select bars, snacks are spread out buffet style available for the picking, and are included in the price of your drink. Ranging from a few cold cuts and a bowl of peanuts, to an entire buffet of pasta, grilled vegetables, side dishes and pizza, aperitivo bars are definitely not all created equal. So here is our pick of the best ones, for every style and budget.
Colle Bereto, Piazza Strozzi
Outdoor seating, good cocktails, chic, loved by the locals. Creative Italian dishes, cocktails and dj sets in a trendy restaurant and american bar, with sophisticated furnishings.
Soul Kitchen, via de’ Benci
Cosmopolitan, informal, good food. Burgers and aperitivo between minimal furnishings and brick vaults in a modern bar with musical evenings.
Moyo, via de’ Benci
Music from 7pm, varied buffet, trendy, young, lively. Bar-restaurant serving international dishes, cocktails and dj sets in a modern and elegant setting.
Oibo’ Ristorante, Borgo dei Greci
Restaurant by day, bar by night, great cocktails and a nice aperitivo buffet spread are on offer here. Mediterranean dishes and cocktails served in a chic space between soft lights and exposed stone. Due to its central location in Piazza Santa Croce, it is always busy. Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to sit out on the patio and enjoy the buzz of the piazza.
Golden View Open Bar
Not only does this bar have an amazing view of the river, it is also half bar and half restaurant. Whether you’re looking for a romantic night out, or just a trendy place to go with friends, this bar is a great choice. They also have a great in-house cocktail menu and an award winning bartender.
Rifrullo, via San Niccolò – a popular place in the Oltrarno. A favourite meeting point for foreigners and locals. Good buffet, lots of seating, open for lunch too.
