FLORENTINE STEAK

Typical Florentina steak in Florence, Tuscany

Where to eat the best steak in Florence? We propose 10 places that in our opinion is worth visiting if you want to eat a good Florentine steak.

Here is the map of the Florentine steak in Florence Center and surroundings.

1) Trattoria 13 gobbi (via del Porcellana 9/R)

Good prices and taste wine cellar since the owner’s wife is an experienced sommelier.

2) Buca Lapi (via del Trebbio 1)

The restaurant has the elegance of tradition. Here a young Giorgio Pinchiorri took his first steps in the world of gastronomy. Rooms vaulted upholstered with paintings, furniture apparently Spartan, is one of the restaurants where they still use Chianina, but the prices are not exactly cheap.

3) Trattoria Sergio Gozzi (piazza San Lorenzo 8/R)

Convivial tables, a menu cooked as you do at home, an atmosphere that over the years has enchanted politicians, royalty and millions of tourists, as well as a lot’ of Florentines who usually spend here for lunch. The steak is cooked strictly on the grill, but those who want to go even a little further can try the tomato gruel.

4) Mario (via Rosina 2/R)

Restaurant in the Central Market area (Mercato centrale). The restaurant is small, but you can have a good glass of Chianti wine and a menu that changes with the seasons. The fiorenina steak, however, is always there. Also here is a great attention to the raw material and cooking on selected wood coals.

5) Perseus (viale Don Minzoni 10/R)

It is considered as the best address of the city for meat, and which in recent times has been stormed even by foreign tourists. The restaurant is located a few steps from Piazza della Libertà, outside of the Old Town. The furniture is classic, like its kitchen, which has always brought to the table an excellent steak.

6) Trattoria Da Burde (Via Pistoiese 6/R)

Burde represents another piece of history of the city and of Italy in general. Opened since the early twentieth century, Trattoria da Burde is still a obligatory for those who want to try the Florentine steak, “il peposo”, “il bollito” and other typical dishes of Tuscan kitchen, such as classic pasta and beans, and soups. Over time one of the Gori family, who has always managed Burde, has become a sommelier, so even the winery will not disappoint you.
