After the success of last year the open-air cinema prepares new seson of italian and international films. From 25th June to 11th August you can come to the square of the Uffizi (piazzale degli Uffizi), have a seat and watch one of the film listed in special program.
The 12 film festival during the year selected the films from all over the world and bring them to Florence: the Festival dei Popoli, the Screen of Art, the River to River in the Middle East Now, the Cinema and Women, the Balkan Florence Express, the Florence Korea Film Fest, the Dragon Film Fest, the Florence Queeer Festival, the Etnomusical festival, the N.I.C.E. And A Window on the North.
48 days of films that try to satisfy all tastes: Night at the Museum, parts 1, 2 and 3; 2001: A Space Odyssey by Kubrick; The Verttigo by Hitchcock; Rome, Open City by Rossellini; We All Loved Each Other So Much by Scola.
There will be presented some films dedicated to art: Marina Abramovic – The Artist is present; Believe Me; I am an artist; National Gallery.
The series of films that will be presented thanks to collaboration with the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency of Tuscany. The project “Libera Italia!” will reveal a page of the Florentine history attached to the memory of the liberation of the city, the day after the destruction of historical bridges by Nazi troops on 11th August 1944.
There will be 200 seats in piazzale degli Uffizi, but it will be also possible to sit in the loggia on the steps.
